About CampyDB

CampyDB is a database for comparative genome analysis of For Campylobacter, Helicobacter and Wolinella. The project was originally conceived in 2002 by Roy Chaudhuri and Mark Pallen at the University of Birmingham, as part of a BBSRC funded Exploiting Genomics (ExGen) consortium.

CampyDB is developed and maintained by Nick Loman and Lori Snyder working in the Pallen Research Group at University of Birmingham and is supported by a 5 year BBSRC grant until Feburary 2012.

It uses a PostgreSQL database with a Apache/mod_perl/HTML::Mason web interface, and generates graphics using the Image::Magick, Postscript::Simple and qd.pl Perl modules. Analyses were performed using MUMmer for whole genome alignment, and CodonW for codon usage. A full description of CampyDB was published in the 2006 NAR database issue (PDF available here). Please cite this paper if you use CampyDB in your work.
